Yikes! London luxury tower crowned UK’s worst building

(CNN) The winner of the 2016 Carbuncle Cup , granted to Britain’s worst structure as a justification to dispute each year by Building Design, an online British architecture publication, is Lincoln Plaza in London, a 31-story high-end domestic tower total with company lounge, movie theater, health spa, hotel and a “wonderful range of way of life centers” by BUJ Architects for Galliard Homes.

This computer-generated, cartoon-style carbuncle– it makes Cesar Pelli’s close-by Canary Wharf Tower look favorably prim– is explained by BD’s jurors as the “architectural personification of sea-sickness.” Its signs: a “brain-numbing assortment of discordant shapes, products, patterns and colours.”
