Helping those in need – Utah Shakespeare Festival

The Utah Shakespeare Festival is once again partnering with local Iron County Care & Share to give back to the community by providing food in need. Its annual Fruit Food Drive runs from September 14 to October 9, and players can get discount tickets to donate food for this reason.

By donating six non-perishable food items, anyone can get half-price tickets to any show from Monday to Thursday. However, this deal is only good on the day of performance, not for advance sale; And the offer is limited to four discounted tickets per person. The food donation barrel ticket office will be located outside the Elin and Allen Anes Studio Theater.

“It is important to support this shelter every year, but considering the time we are in and all the damage caused by the epidemic, food insecurity has worsened. So, the festival is very happy to help wherever we can, ”said Don Jersey, Director of Development and Communications.

In addition to the financial instability caused by the Kovid-1 pandemic epidemic, the catastrophic floods have put local residents in a more difficult situation. Now, more than ever, community support is critical to the success of Fruit Food Drive.

Iron County Care & Share was founded in 1984 to address the hunger of the local church community. Nearly 40 years later, the organization is still working to help those in need.

The festival typically receives more than 500 3,500 a year in food for Iron County Care & Share. Organizers of seventeen Fruit Food Drives, festival staff are hoping to gather more if not more than in the past.
