Brian Laundry remains sent for further assessment after autopsy results returned uncertain (update)

Human remains were found in the Carlton Reserve in Florida last week, along with Brian Laundry’s belongings. In the end, it was determined that the remains were Brian’s remains, however, it seems that the autopsy results were not able to determine the cause of his death and need to be further evaluated.

According to NBC News, Brian’s family attorney Steven Bertolino has revealed that the results of his autopsy have returned inconclusive and his remains have been sent to an anthropologist “for further evaluation.” “The cause of death has not been determined,” Bartolino said in a statement.

There is no timeline for when the anthropologist will complete the assessment of Brian’s remains, but he will be cremated. There are no current plans for a funeral service, however, Bertolino said a personal service could be held at a later date.

Before the discovery of the remains, the search for Brian passed a month when he became interested when his fiance Gabby Petito went missing while the two were traveling around the country and sharing their experiences through social media. Brian returned to his parents’ home on Sept. 1 without Gabby.

Gabby’s was discovered on September 19, and it was determined that he died at least three weeks before the discovery. The official cause of his death was a murder verdict by “manual suffocation”.
