Duane Wade’s son Zaire Wade was drafted by the Utah Jazz’s G-League team

It’s a lot to see Dwayne Wade’s son Zaire Wade is following in his footsteps when his hoop dream comes true.

Zaire was officially drafted by the Utah Jazz’s G-League team, the Salt Lake City Stars. Before Zaire was drafted, he was probably discussed to join the team. Dwayne, owner of the Utah Jazz, shared the moment when Zier learned he was selected by the team. Said, “Wade’s legacy continues … Proud Dad moment!”

Zaire was fifth overall in the draft. According to Salt Lake Tribune, Zaire was expected to be ranked 296th in the 2021 recruiting class. He joined Sierra Canyon with Bruni James, then went to Brewster Academy. He received offers from various colleges but later decided not to go that route.

It was mentioned that players are not allowed to sign G-League teams directly, and they have to be drafted by the league.

As many of you know, Zaire’s father, Dwayne Wade, was drafted as the 5th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. Throughout his career, he played for the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers and officially retired in 2019 as a member of the Hit Back.

In April of this year, d. Wade bought an undisclosed minority ownership stake in the Utah Jazz.

Congratulations to Zaire Wade!
