EXCLUSIVE: The Biden administration has announced an executive order to close educational gaps and bring equality for black Americans. News

President Joe Biden An executive order was signed Tuesday (Oct. 1) to begin work to address and eliminate racial discrimination in U.S. education and, as a result, provide economic opportunities. The administration has instructed a working group consisting of senior officers from government agencies to study and implement best practices that will improve the education and ultimately financial outcomes of black Americans.

The title of the order is White House initiatives to promote educational equality, Excellence and economic opportunity for black Americans, And it is a comprehensive plan that solves problems from the educational access of 3- and 4-year-olds to HBCU for black students as well as other post-secondary, business and vocational schools.

The Biden Order specifically calls it “endless racial and systemic injustice” because that is why black students are often run with minimal progress in poor schools. Subsequently, this lack of educational opportunities often leaves those children with, once they grow up, fewer and less lucrative career opportunities.
Recognizing this, the executive order describes using internships, apprenticeships and partnerships with private sector companies to describe the careers and fields of black students that they are not typically represented in. There are also plans to highlight education and training that will allow black students to enter STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

What will happen Is the White House Initiative Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity just for black Americans?

To promote equality in schools in our country and to promote the economic opportunities available to black students, families in the society focus on specific policy goals. First, there must be a general understanding of the educational challenges facing black students, increasing access to black programs to encourage early childhood programs and healthy learning, especially in dealing with this abuse of black students in special education, improving black data collection and ensuring students All black students will have access to excellent teachers and school leaders through positive engagement with them and their families.

How will the initiative lead to the job?

The initiative will monitor the development of black students and assist with federal coordination and funding around educational, workforce, research and business development policies and programs. There will be established programs including work-based education, entrepreneurship, financial education and mentorship to help black students further empower economic stability.

Since taking office in January, the Biden-Harris administration has worked for the past 10 months to address the long-term effects of systemic racism on the black community.

Here are some areas where the administration has claimed success for the benefit of blacks from a White House fact sheet, entitled “The Biden-Harris Administration Advances Equity and Opportunity for Black Peoples and Communities at Acron.”

. Provide immediate relief to black people and families through the American Rescue Plan. The ARP provides direct cash relief to low- and middle-income Americans and could reduce black poverty by more than 50% this year and has already reduced black child poverty by 40.1%, lifting about 420,000 black children into poverty between June and July alone.

. Utilizing federal procurement to bridge the gap between ethnic resources for black entrepreneurs and families. President Biden instructed agencies to use federal purchasing power to increase federal contracts with small disadvantaged businesses, including black-owned businesses, by 50%, which translates to an additional বিল 100 billion over five years.

. Extending a lifeline to struggle for small business. The American Rescue Plan provides emergency grants, nding and investments for hard-hit small businesses.

. Helping black Americans stay in their homes. President Biden’s American Rescue Plan has helped Americans stay in their homes to provide emergency assistance to repay rent. In addition, ARP helps struggling homeowners get their mortgage payments and utility costs through homeowners assistance funds. And, it has provided additional funding for families and individuals who are recovering from the risk of becoming homeless.

. Assist black landowners in resolving title issues. An estimated 0% of black-owned land in the South is the property of the heirs, which historically disqualified the owners for the USDA program. In July, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) launched an inheritance property relinding program that provides funding to assist heirs in resolving ownership and inheritance issues on agricultural land with multiple owners.

Police and judicial reform

. Chokehold ban. In September, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced a ban on the use of chokehold and carotid restraint where deadly force is required.

. New restrictions on no-knock warrants. Administratively implementing reforms to enforce federal law that the President called on Congress to implement nationwide through the George Floyd Justice in Police Act.

. Restoring the use of consent decrees to stop systemic police misconduct. The DOJ withdraws previous administration directives on the use of consent decrees to reform police departments with a pattern or practice of discrimination and misconduct.

. Improve prosecutional guidance to prevent unreasonable harsh sentences. The DOJ withdrew guidelines issued in previous administrations that required prosecutors to always charge the toughest sentences, re-establishing consideration of the decision to charge on the basis of a separate assessment of charging, application agreement and relevant information instead of directing.

. Dealing with police misconduct. George Floyd strongly supports the President’s Policing Act. He is disappointed that the law has not yet reached his desk and he will not wait for meaningful police reform through executive action.

. Executive orders limit the use of private prisons. The president instructed the DOJ not to renew the privately-held Criminal Detention Facility Agreement, under the Prisons Bureau (BOP) and the US Martial Services (USMS). When completed, it will result in the removal of 14,000 people in BOP custody and 10,000 people in USMS custody from private prisons.

. Support for the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) program. Black boys and young men aged 15-34 account for 2% of the population but 37% are victims, and for blacks under 45, homicide is the leading cause of death. Until this administration, however, CVI programs such as Violence Disorders and Hospital-Based Programs, which appear to reduce violence by up to 0%, have been poorly funded.

. Support for the right to vote. President Biden has called on Congress to enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, which together set national standards that make voting easier and provide new tools to prevent voting inequality.

Improving health outcomes for the black community

. Reducing healthcare costs. Millions of lower-middle-income black families listed on the health insurance marketplace have had their premiums reduced or eliminated as a result of ARP. Nationwide, existing consumers have saved an average of $ 67 per month on their premiums. These monthly savings were even higher in 20 states and the District of Columbia where existing consumers saved more than 75 75 per month on average.

– Millions of uninsured Americans received coverage during the administration’s 2021 Special Enrollment Period (SEP). Of those who have newly signed up for HealthCare.gov coverage, those who have been ethnically or racially attested, 15% are black Americans, more than 60% from 2019.

In April, President Biden issued a presidential proclamation for the first time in Black Maternal Health Week, urging all Americans to recognize the importance of tackling the crisis of black maternal mortality and illness. Also, at the request of the President’s FY 22 budget, more than 200 200 million to strengthen maternal mortality review committees, including the implementation of underlying biased training for healthcare providers and the creation of a state pregnancy medical home program.

. Ensuring a fair epidemic response. Nationwide, blacks from Covid-1 to whites 1. times multiplied. The ARP has provided ১ 1 billion for vaccines, testing, personal protective equipment, and public health workers needed to address the spread of COVID-1, an investment that is helping to eliminate racial inequalities in prevention and care. Due to the ARP and other presidential investments in equitable access to the Covid-1 vaccine vaccine, multiple studies have found that the gap between Covid vaccination rates among black Americans compared to whites and Latinos has closed.

In January, President Biden signed an executive order ensuring a fair epidemic response and recovery, creating a COVID-19 health equity task force to make specific recommendations to the president to prevent such discrimination caused by the COVID-19 epidemic in the future. .
