Peoria Civic Center – Peoria, IL February 15, 2020
20 years later KISS returns their winners to Peoria, Illinois. Playing a soldout show, local fans and fans from Middle Eastern states came to the Heart of Illinois to welcome KISS and David Lee Roth on their final tour.
David Lee Roth
Diamond Dave Kinks opened the show to a loud and excited crowd with the cover “You Really Got Me”. He hasn’t lost his pace or vocals that we all know from the years of his solo career with Van Helen. The stage was full of signature smiles and wild attitudes. “Unchained”, “Panama”, and “Ranin ‘with the Devil” sang with fans. Of course, his cover of Louis Primer’s “Just a Gigallo” was a huge hit with all the fans and everyone was rocking. Closing with a “jump” that was quite sparkling as the field shook everyone jumped at the same time.
Originally formed in New York in 1973, it is one of the best-selling bands of all time. Mask Hall of Fame winners, on stage and on screen, there is not enough time to document how much this powerhouse has influenced the world with generations, musicians and their music. Controversial and apologetic they have always proven to fulfill a promise “You wanted the best, you got the best!
Key members Paul Stanley and Jean Simmons join Tommy Thayer of Black & Blue and lead guitarist Eric Singer, who has also played for multiple powerhouse rock bands. The KISS Army and fans have enjoyed the “War Machine” hits from every decade starting with “Detroit Rock City” and “Shout It Out Loud” as well as ending with Gene World Fire. Jean and he ended the bus solo during “God of Thunder” with a 7-inch tongue dripping with his signature. Paul Stanley flew over the crowd, ended the show with Eric Singer on the piano playing “Beth” to perform “Love Song” behind the civic center, then rejoined “Crazy Crazy Nights” and the rest of the boys, of course with “Rock and Roll All Night”. Explosive ending I highly recommend if they come close or take long treks to see the show on the final tour. So don’t wait for the countdown timer on their website. Get your tickets and grab that show!
