Los Angeles County has approved a 2.5 million settlement with two families for graphic photos shared from Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash in Kobe.

Los Angeles County has approved a $ 2.5 million settlement in two lawsuits since nine people, including the late Kobe Bryant, were killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020. The lawsuits were filed by the families of Altobeli and Mauser, who complained that they suffered emotional distress after first responders shared photos of the crash site and the dead.

The settlement will provide 1.25 million to Matthew Mauser, whose wife Christina Mauser died in the crash. According to The Hill, siblings JJ and Alexis Altobelli, who lost their parents, John and Kerry, as well as their 14-year-old sister Alyssa, will also receive 1.25 million.

Skip Miller, an attorney representing LA County, said in a statement to The LA Times: The settlement said Vanessa Bryant has filed a similar lawsuit against the county for graphic photos taken by her husband and their daughter, Gianna Bryant. There have been several lawsuits since the tragic deaths of Kobe and others. , Chester and Mauser’s family have reached a confidential settlement agreement with the helicopter company.

The document states, “Plaintiffs and defendants have jointly reported that they have agreed to settle their claim in the aforesaid entitled action.” The terms of the settlement have been disclosed, and the settlement is still awaiting court approval. Also, Vanessa filed a lawsuit against the company last year, and Ara Jobayan’s property was named as a defendant in the unjust-death lawsuit. Vanessa is expected to face trial in February 2022 for the graphic photos case. Rumis, we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
