The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office says a civil rights lawsuit has been filed against a woman who allegedly broke her son’s toy in a neighborhood playground and told him she would “kneel on his neck.”
According to the Associated Press, the woman, known as Christina Graper, also allegedly called the boy a racial slur during the incident, which took place in May.
The grapper’s son pushed the boy, and that push caused the boy to “break a foam missile or foam bullet” that his son had, according to the complaint. Her son ran home and told her what had happened.
Based on the allegations, Grepper went back to the park to look for another child and was threatened that he would “kneel on his neck”. An eyewitness told Grapper that his behavior was unnecessary, and then Graper allegedly started yelling at the man.
Allegedly, before returning home, he called the child a racist.
The rapist’s race was not mentioned in the complaint.
The boy’s mother later called the police about the encounter. When he met them on June 1, Grapper denied that he would kneel on the boy’s neck, but instead said, “You’re wondering why you guys are on your knees.”
The encounter allegedly hurt the child because he understood the comments as a reference to George Floyd’s murder, the complaint said. She began to cry when she heard Grapper’s words and was afraid to return to the park and would only do so “when other children would help keep her safe,” according to the complaint.
Gripper’s calls and messages left by the Associated Press have not been returned. No lawyer was listed for him in the case file.
