His parents, Chris and Roberta Laundry, told authorities on September 1 that they had not seen or heard from their son since September 1. According to their story, he told them he planned a hike to Carlton Reserve.

Authorities found a backpack, notebook and now identified remains on Wednesday. Brian’s parents helped search Carlton Reserve in North Port, Florida, and Brian was frequently seen by police in an area. This became the area where backpacks, books and human remains were found.

“These are human bodies, no doubt about it,” police spokesman Josh Taylor told CNN. “I would say that the remains were consistent with one person, you know the skeletal remains.”

Her parents were present when the items and remains were found. Despite the floating conspiracy theory, police say the items found were in reserve “for some time.” Investigators also found clothing with debris that is believed to have been the last to be worn by Brian before his disappearance.

Police had previously searched the area for Brian, but the situation in the area made things difficult. Before yesterday, belongings and remains were submerged in water. Police say the notebook found was not opened because it needed to be dried and processed.

This is a developing story.
