As everyone wrapped up Halloween and shared their costumes online, people today were trying to find out if Tristan Thompson’s latest appearance was a tribute to the late pop smoker. During an interview with the Sacramento Kings, Tristan’s presence alerted everyone. Following Tristan’s video from a press conference that went viral, the name Pop Smoke was trending on Twitter.
With Tristan’s tight cornro, velor jacket and square frame, it doesn’t deny the similarity between the men. In the clip, viewed by more than 1.5 million people, a tweet read, “Thought I’d be looking at pop smoke for a second.” Although it’s been a year since the Brooklyn rapper’s untimely death, his legacy continues through his music. The only reason the pope’s name is still relevant is because the world is waiting to see if those responsible for the deaths will be sent to prison.
As we reported last month, 19-year-old Corey Walker and his attorney, Christopher Darden, appeared before a judge, who offered to dismiss several charges, including one robbery and murder in special circumstances that occurred during the theft. One of the four suspects involved in the Corey Pop murder, the other suspects were minors at the time of the incident.
Attorney Darden also argued There is no evidence that the defendant had any prior criminal experience with his co-suspects or that he knew that any of them was particularly violent or interested in shooting the victim. At this point, we’ll have to wait and see what the prosecution decides when the judge decides at Corey Walker’s next hearing in early December.
